Invitation to the

7th Microlight European Championships (EMC'02)

Dear Madam, dear Sir,

Microlight Enthusiasts of Europe,

hereby we, general secretary of the Hungarian Aeronautical Association and Mayor of the township Nagykanizsa, invite all interested to the EMC'02, which will take place on the airfield of Nagykanizsa in two parts:

·        Open European Classic-Classes  Microlight Championships 2002, for 3axis aircrafts  and  trikes, in the period of 14-21 July,

·        Open European Para-Classes Championships 2002,  for powered paragliders, in the period of  11-18 August.

Interested in participation can be teams, coming from within the Region determined  as "Europe", with aircrafts determined  as "microlights" in the Sporting Code of the International Flying Association, the FAI. Teams missing any of the conditions may come at the invitation of the Organisers and may participate as "guests" with the approval of the International Jury.

Situated in the south-west region of the country, Nagykanizsa represents the gate opening Hungary to Croatia, Slovenia and Austria. The town has always been a significant junction point of international communication during the whole of history and presently is getting prepared  to host a large scale international sportflying event. The International Civil Aviation Organisation, the ICAO created the following motto for 2002:

"Flight between Nations - Dialogue between Peoples"

In the past half decade the International Mura Cups, leading across the borders of countries established an annual forum for such dialogues and we, host of the coming event, will do our bests to present the possibilities for dialogues, this time not only between neighbouring countries, but among countries of a whole continent. This way are we intending to contribute  to the  reinforcement of friendship amongst participating nations - just as it during past decades has been being required by the FAI Sporting Code, and as it is projected by the ICAO for 2002.

Wishing good flights over frontiers and fruitful dialogues when arriving, sincerely yours

Dr. Dezso Hegedus                                                 XY

general secretary of the HAA                                  Mayor of Nagykanizsa
